Discussion:
How do tornadoes happen in the real world?
Tornadoes happen when winds move in different directions. When they meet, they spin
horizontally. Then warm humid air goes up and makes a thundercloud. This is called
updraft. The updraft makes the spinning air turn vertically. Then cool air descends to
the ground in a downdraft. This is how tornadoes are pulled to the ground.
Tornadoes destroy everything. Tornadoes pick up dust and debris. Tornadoes also can
wreck buildings up, throw trucks and cars up in air. Tornadoes speed canbe from to 100
km/h to 500 km/h. Usually tornadoes last 10 minutes but strong tornadoes can last up
to 25 minutes.
